Aims and Scope

Acuitas is the Latin word which means sharpness of the vision. While meeting its high academic quality standards it carries an eclectic and diverse mix of papers from every field of management. Its objective is to disseminate knowledge of interdisciplinary research and cross-functional issues.

Acuitas - The journal of Management Research is a bi-annual journal of Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research, Deekshabhoomi Nagpur. It is a peer reviewed National journal. Addressed to management practitioners, researchers and academicians. Acuitas aims to engage rigorously with practices, concepts and ideas in the field of management, with an emphasis on providing managerial insights. The journal is an, academic endeavour, committed to encouraging research in the management field.

The journal provides the forum for the dissemination of new ideas and innovation in every field of management.

To be recognized as an authoritative, high-quality source of information, a journal must be widely available. Indexing and abstracting services facilitate the broadest dissemination of information by pointing researchers to articles that are relevant to the field.

The decision to include a journal is based on several factors, most importantly a great deal of high quality content, with much more in the pipeline, that is produced on schedule.

Acuitas – The Journal of Management Research with ISSN: 0975-9654 is proud to be listed in Ulrich’s periodicals Directory. It serves as forums for the introduction and presentation for scrutiny of new research, and the critique of existing research.

About ISSN : The International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is an internationally accepted code which identifies the title of serial publications. It is used by publishers, suppliers, libraries, information services, bar coding systems, union catalogues, etc. for citation and retrieval of serials such as Journals, Newspapers, Newsletters, Directories, Yearbooks, Annual Reports & Monograph series, etc. The benefits include international publicity and recognition of the serial by automatic inclusion in the International Serials Directory Database.

About Ulrich's Periodicals Directory, produced by Pro Quest, is a unique, current, comprehensive, and continuously updated source of information on over 328,500 periodicals and serials from 90,000 publishers in over 215 countries. Annuals, continuations, and conference proceedings are included, as well as academic/scholarly publications, trade publications, consumer magazines, newsletters and bulletins, and titles that have ceased publication since 1974.

What next for Acuitas- The Journal of Management Research?

Registrar of Newspaper of India(RNI) has verified the title of Acuitas- The Journal of Management Research. The registration process is in progress and will be shortly completed.

The indexing process with various international databases like EBSCO host, Gales Academic Database, Copernicuis and many more is in progress and the journal aims to get listed with several more in coming years.

Forthcoming Issue

Acuitas – The journal of Management Research provides an outlook of research advancements and understandings in the field of management and its all aspects. It publishes research papers, case studies and book reviews that consider issues regarding management. The current issue includes papers those are interdisciplinary in nature but the major disciplines covered in this issue are Operation Research Management, Marketing Management, Finance and Human Resource Management.

First paper is authored by Mrs. G. Kavitha, titled “A Study on Consumer Attitude towards Credit cards in Coimbatore city” which contributes in the area of Marketing Management and the study attempts to find the spending pattern, behavior of the credit card holders and factor influencing the customers in selection of credit card.

Second paper is on Financial management titled “Binary Options and Real Assets” authored by Tumellano Sebehela which conceptually links traits of binary options and real options in the broader sense.

Third paper is from the area of Financial management, titled “South African Equities Market and Stock Market Crisis” authored by Kagiso Madimabe and T. Sebehela, which illustrates that Johannesburg Securities (JSE) performed poorly overall and this kind perform is consistent with what many stock exchanges experienced during financial crisis.

Fourth paper is contributed by S. Subramaniam in the area of Human Resource Management, titled “Global recession and Human Resource Development its Management Challenges, Strategies and Outsourcing” which is all about the effect of global recession on organizations and the strategies adopted by management during such recessionary period.

Fifth paper is from the area of Human Resource Management, which attempts to find out the satisfaction of holding and estate tappers across four factors namely monetary factors, work conditions, welfare benefits and health and hygiene factors. The titled of the research paper is “Labour Management in Rubber Holdings and Estates of Kanyakumari District” by Frank Sunil Justus.

Sixth and the last paper ponder upon some strategies that hurt innovation. In addition, based on some of the cases of past recession-hit companies, it also identifies some practical and widely applicable strategies of HRM function that companies can tag on to overcome these barriers and stop innovation halting and the title of the research paper is “Innovative HRM strategies-a device to optimize bottom-line" by Sarwath Khizrana, which is again from the area of Human Resource Management.

The prime goal of Acuitas is to disseminate the ideas and thoughts about management to academicians, researchers, practitioners and all those who can benefit from it. It aims to include paper from all over the world without any discrimination.

Call for Papers

"ACUITAS" is a biannual publication of Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Business Management Studies and Research Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur. Its objective is to create a platform, where ideas, concepts and application related to every field of Management can be shared and spread. Its focus is on pure research applied research and emerging issues in Management and Technology.

In this context research papers are invited from academicians, practicing managers and professionals.

All final papers submissions must have a title page, discipline, sub-theme of the paper, the name (s) of the author (s), affiliation (s), complete address of all authors including phone, fax, e-mail address, and biographical note (s) (max.100 words) of the author (s).

  • The title of the paper must be written in Bold Capital Letters using 12 pt Times New Roman Font. Although all sub-headings (e.g. abstract, introduction, objective, methodology, findings and conclusion should also be in capital letters using 12 pt Times New Roman Font. They should not be written in bold letters.
  • All authors will receive an acknowledgement by e-mail after the receipt of the full papers.
  • All papers will be scrutinized by the Editorial committee. If the full paper is not complying the conditions mentioned in the broacher then a mail will be send to those authors and the authors should make the necessary changes as mentioned. All the tables and figures should be incorporated into the body of the paper.

General Guidelines

  • All manuscripts should be Professionally Proof – read before the submission. The content should be original, unpublished work. Manuscript must not have been previously published.
  • DAIMSR is not responsible for any claim made in any of the papers accepted for publications in the proceedings. The authors of each of the papers are solely responsible for the content referencing of the papers, grammar, theories, positions, and terminologies set fort in proceedings. the authors of the papers are also responsible for ensuring that manuscripts they have submitted for publication in the proceeding have not been published else were and content no material previously published or written by another person, except when due reference is made in the text of the paper.
  • All manuscripts will be subjected to a double blind, peer review process. Since the journal is of National significance as it covers many important business related areas the proceedings may be made available for sale to the general public at the sole discretion of DAIMSR.
  • The copy write will belong to Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research, Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur. Selected quality papers may be considered for publication in "Acuitas", subject to another double – blind peer – review – process. No paper will be accepted for publication if it is not prepared appropriately complying with the general instructions.
