PLANT CONSERVATORY & TREE PLANTATION @ DAIMSR

In view to support Maharashtra government's initiative to plant & conserve more trees, Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Mangement Studies & Research, Deekshabhoomi recently conducted Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the Plant Conservatory area & plantation of trees at its west campus. The Plant Conservatory area was inaugurated by the hands of Addl. Chief Conservater, Forest Dept., Maharashtra state, Shri Shailesh Temburnikar, Dr. Nirzar Kulkarni (Associate Director, DAIMSR), Faculty members, & students. While addressing the students he said, “Trees improve our air quality by filtering harmful dust and pollutants such as ozone, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide from the air we breathe.” He emphasized the management and students to frequently organize such activities to make the campus more eco-friendly. At the same time he promised to give all the support for planting & maintaining different verities of plants in the conservatory area. Dr. Nirzar Kulkarni, while expressing the objective of plant conservatory said, “We will be planting & maintaining different varieties of plants which are of dying extinct and which gives more oxygen”. He further stated that “In coming days conservatory will be open for plant lovers and researchers to study.” In the initial phase of conservatory area 150 saplings along with 10 large plants were planted in the campus with a planning of planting the same number of saplings and plant every quarter. Students showed great enthusiasm in planting & showed commitment to maintain and grow the conservatory area by properly maintaining them with adequate Water & sun-light, Soil, and fertilizer if needed. The event was well co-ordinated by Prof. Ajay Gidwani. All the faculty members along with Dr. Vadana Rao, Dr. Monica Jain, Dr.Sarang Javkhedkar worked hard for the success of the programme.
